Black Mountain Basement Leak

Residential · Basement leak · Rub-R-Wall membrane · PVC drainage

Water from a stream and the AC lines was pooling at one corner of this Black Mountain home and leaking into the basement. Redirecting that water and installing a full exterior basement waterproofing system stopped the leak in one week.

Thoroseal and Rub-R-Wall waterproofing on a stone foundation in Black Mountain, NC

Location

Black Mountain, NC

Scope

Full exterior system

Duration

1 week

Products

Rub-R-Wall, PVC drainage

The Problem

A stream runs behind the house, and the AC unit’s lines drained straight to the same back corner. All that water pooled against the foundation and leaked into the basement.

Sealing the wall alone wouldn’t have been enough. The water needed somewhere else to go.

The Work Performed

Excavation

Stream runoff + AC lines redirected

Wall prep

Thoroseal coat

Rub-R-Wall membrane

Insulation sheets

PVC drainage installed

Backfill + final grading

Insulation sheet layer and PVC drainage along a Black Mountain, NC foundation

The Results

No more basement leaks. The stream runoff and AC lines now drain away from the house instead of pooling at the foundation.

With the wall sealed, new PVC drainage and a positive grade, this Black Mountain basement stays dry.
